ASPI Layer for Windows XP – Use ForceASPI 1.7
I had the hardest time getting CDex, the ripper program to work as it depends on the Adaptec (or other) ASPI layer. I found after some tinkering that the forceaspi program (150KB) available from doom9.net at http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/software.htm (Look near the bottom of the page under “Support Utils”) . . .
Follow the directions in the included html file. It installs ASPI 4.60 – which works great, old-as-the-hills as it is.
